X-Bomber Remaster (2013)

X-Bomber: Remaster DVD Box (Xボンバー リマスターDVDボックス) is a reprint of the original 2002 Japanese DVD, but with slight improvements to quality and more extra features. As with the previous release, Space Quest for F-01 is also included as an extra on the sixth disc.

It was released on April 24, 2013 by Bandai Visual Entertainment.

The only real "remastering" to the episodes done was a new transfer of the intro credits which are cleaner quality than the original. The episodes themselves are fairly the same in quality as the original release.

The Set also comes with a small booklet with information on some of the main characters, Shiro, Hercules, Lee, Lamia and Kirara.

Special Features

All Special Features are located on Disc Three

Trivia

  • Episodes 13-25 in their original airings had a different intro, however on both versions of the DVD, it is replaced with the intro used from Episodes 1-12. The second intro, however, comes as a special feature on the 2013 version.
  • On the 2002 release, the episodes are missing their title cards, excluding Episode 18. They are restored on the 2013 release.
  • Episodes 15-18, 20-25 are all lacking in contrast. Episode 14 also seems to have exposure issues.
  • Space Quest for F-01 is slowed down by 4 frames (likely, so as to match the speed of the original Japanese NTSC masters, as the intro theme is at its original speed) so the pitch is noticeably lower. The English intro, however, is kept at its original speed for whatever reason.
